Situated at an altitude of 727 metres, the Alpenzoo is Europe’s highest zoo and is home to many different species of Alpine animals. Some of the animals you will find in the zoo are otters, wolves, brown bears and golden eagles. Other animals such as goats, sheep, cows and Turopolje pigs can be observed at a farm house located within the zoo premises. The Alpen zoo is situated at the foot of the Nordkette and makes for an uphill climb. Make sure you’re wearing comfortable shoes when headed to the Appen Zoo.
