Chinese New Year is the biggest festival in Hong Kong and sees the coming together of all people to celebrate their culture and the advent of the New Year. Starting towards the end of January, the celebrations go on for 15 days and include many old traditions, cultural festivities and more. The temples, markets and street all lit up and there is a sense of jubilation in the atmosphere. The event concludes with the Spring Lantern Festival which takes place on the last day.
