The Church was built in the year 1661 by the Portuguese Viceroyalty of India. It is a roman catholic church situated in the main square of old Goa. It is a beautiful mixture of Tuscan order and Baroque and Corinthian features. The church has a museum which was set up by the Archaeological Survey of India in 1964 and contains sculptures and paintings that show the beautiful and rich history of the land.
