  • Bus

Geneva is full of wonderment, but the best part is that you get to go around all these for FREE! Taking the tram, the bus and the train on Geneva territory will not cost you a penny. You can even cross the lake with the yellow taxi-boats for free. All you need to get is the Geneva Transport Card, which is also free of cost! However, if you are not staying in Geneva and are here only for a day trip, you may buy the tickets from vending machines at every bus stop in the city. Some bus stops do not have a ticket machine, but in that case you can buy a ticket on board the bus itself. The ticket machines do not give change, so if you have over paid, keep the ticket and take it to a TPG office (located at the airport, Cornavin Railway Station), where the difference will be refunded to you.

  • Bike

Geneva is a great town to get around in on a bicycle. And the best part is that it is FREE… well at least for the first four hours! Take up a guided tour on a bicycle or set out on an independent adventure, there will never be a dull moment on the bike in Geneva. Short distances, miles of cycling lanes and bicycles free to use, Geneva is a paradise for cyclists. What could be better than a ride through forest, vineyard, and cornfield? You can rent a bike free of charge for four hours (and then a fee of CHF 2 per extra hour) at the 'Genève Roule’ Association.

  • Tram

Geneva has an expanding network of frequent trams, most of which have their hub at the Cornavin Train Station. The Geneva Transport Card can be used for all these lines. In case you haven’t received a TPG card from your hotel, you will need to buy a ticket from one of the ticket machines located at every stop before boarding the transport. Tickets cover both trams and buses.

  • On Foot

While travelling in Geneva is free of cost, travelling on foot has its own charm in this beautiful Swiss city. The Old Town especially can be easily visited on foot starting anywhere around the tour boat dock on Lake Geneva or from the Cornavin Station. With gorgeous gardens at almost every corner, relaxing with a cup of coffee or hot chocolate is a delight one can savour most in Geneva.
