This museum procured by Swiss collector Alfred Baur contains an art collection of around 9000 Chinese and Japanese objects. Housed in a historic 19th century building, the museum contains items such as Japanese prints, lacquer, Chinese ceramic ware, sword fittings and much more. Several donations of Chinese lacquer and ceramics have only added to the already rich collection of the museum. The museum represents the largest collection of Far Eastern art in Switzerland. Other than this, temporary exhibits are organised many times a year.

  • Opening Closing Time 2 pm to 6 pm (Tuesday to Sunday)

  • Entrance Fee CHF 10 (adults), CHF 5 (students, seniors ad unemployed). Children under 16 can enter free.
