Located at the tip of the Sri Lankan coast, Galle experiences a typical tropical rainforest climate. It's sunny for most part of the year, making it a year round destination. Here's a monthly breakup of Galle's climatic conditions so you can plan when to go:

December to February: Galle is mostly hot and dry during these months and temperatures vary between 29 to 31 degree celcius. There is a mix of rainfall and sunshine during the days so make sure you pack accordingly. However, this is the only time in Galle when you get 7 hours of daily sunshine which makes the weather pleasant for some outdoor activities.

February to April: Spring time is the best to visit Sri Lanka. The weather from February to April is pleasant and suitable for beach activities. Low rainfall makes the season favourable for you to relax by the poolside or the beach.

May to September: May to September are the wettest months in Galle so make sure you carry an umbrella or raincoat with you at all times. Though some outdoor activities cannot be enjoyed during this time in Galle, you will get good deals on hotels.

October to November: The temperature falls down during these months, making them a little cooler. Another good thing is that during this time, the monsoon moves northeast. The sea becomes calm and adventure activities at the beach begin to take place.
