Mani Lhakhang Stupa, or the Prayer Wheels Stupa, is a holy monument built under the directions of Third Jamgon Kongtrul Rinpoche, an Avalokiteshvara. Established in 2001, the stupa is considered to be a spiritual spot for the Buddhists.

After an earthquake in 1986, Dalai Lama got five small stupas constructed to ward off threats and natural calamities - this is one of them.

Inside the sanctum is a huge gold plated statue of the Buddha sitting in the lotus position. If you visit the stupa during the evening prayer time, you can listen to the hymns sung by the monks accompanied with musical instruments. You can also spin the long row of prayer wheels for good luck.
