The Thyagaraj Sports Complex was opened in April 2010 especially as a venue for the 2010 Commonwealth Games. The stadium hosted the net ball event during the Commonwealth Games. Named after famous South-Indian music composer, Thyagaraj, this sports complex is spread over an area of 16.5 acres. The stadium has been constructed using modern technology such as fly ash bricks and has features like rain water harvesting and solar lighting.
