Built in 1658 AD the Shri Digambar Jain Lal Mandir is located opposite the Red Fort in Old Delhi and dates back to the times of Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb. This temple is dedicated to Parashvanath, the 23rd Tirthankara and also houses a charity hospital for birds. The architecture of the temple is complete with elaborate engravings and paintings which only enhances the beauty of this ancient temple.

The main prayer hall of the temple is located on the first floor and can be reached by climbing to the terrace and crossing a small courtyard. This temple is very popular among devotees and witnesses many people coming here to pay their respects and making offerings such as fruit, grains and even candles. The temple complex also contains a bookstore where one can find interesting literature on Jainism, along with interesting souvenirs related to the Jain faith. Visitors are requested to remove their shoes and leather items before entering the temple.
