Rajpath Overview

Rajpath is a beautiful tree lined avenue which starts from Rashtrapati Bhavan and runs through Vijay Chowk, and National Stadium. Flanked by trees, lawns and canals on either side. After an incline at Raisina Hill, Rajpath is framed by the North Block and South Block on either side and culminates at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. Rajpath intersects Sansad Marg and the house of Parliament at Vijay Chowk and is to the right when coming from India Gate.

Rajpath was planned by British architect Edwin Lutyens. Known as Kingsway during the British Raj, Rajpath is one of the most important roads in India and is also the venue of the annual republic day parade. Rajpath is a great place to click some great photographs of the India Gate and Rashtrapati Bhavan and also a nice place to go for a picnic or a drive.
