Located in Chandini Chowk, opposite the Red Fort, the Fathepuri Mosque was commissioned by Fatehpuri Begum one of Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan’s wives. Fathepur Begum hailed from Fatehpur and one of the mosques in the Taj Mahal is also named after her.

The Fatehpuri Mosque is constructed using red sandstone and is bordered by tall minarets. The mosque is constructed using a traditional design. The main prayer hall of the mosque has a splendid seven arched opening, the central arch being the highest. The Fatehpuri Mosque has three gates, the first one is in front of the Red Fort and the second and third ones are in the North and South of the mosque.
