The Diwan-i-Am or the Hall of Public audiences is located within the Red Fort and is where the Emperor would address the needs to the common people oh his kingdom through a balcony. The Diwan-i-Am is an ornate hall adorned with stuccowork and contains gold columns. The hall also housed a large railing which acted as a barrier between the emperor and his subjects. Apart from this the Diwan-i-Am was also used as the venue for many state gatherings and celebrations.
