Area geography

Located in the south-western part of Karnataka, bordering Kerala, Coorg lies in the Western Ghats. It features a tropical highland climate. Its maximum length is 96 kilometres (north-south) and breadth 64 kilometres (east-west). The area of the district is around 4,102 square kilometres.
