The Dutch Museum in Colombo chronicles the history of Dutch colonial rule in Sri Lanka. The museum itself is housed in the Old Dutch House. The Dutch House, built in the 17th century, is beautiful and well maintained. The building was restored in 1981 and the museum was opened to public in 1982. Inside the museum, you will come across various artifacts like arms, ceramics, coins and furniture that tell the tale of Dutch colonial rule and the prevalent culture at that time.
