Dedicated to Lord Krishna, Sri Parthasarathy Temple Triplicane is quite close to the Marina beach and is situated at Triplicane in Chennai. Literally, the word ‘Parthasarathy’ means Arjun’s charioteer and hence the temple has a unique significance of being one of the very few temples in India to be dedicated to Lord Krishna as Parthasarathy.

Shaped in a beautiful pyramid-like dome, the temple has become the main highlight of the street. Just like other temples in Chennai, here too you would find the typical South-Indian architecture boasting of the fine carvings, mandaps (pillars) and gopurams (tower-like).

The temple is also home to five incarnations of Lord Vishnu namely Narasimhar, Ramar, Varadarajar, Ranganathar and Krishna. However, there are different entrances to the shrines of Lord Krishna and Lord Narasimhar in the temple.
