Nestled amidst walls of the St. George Fort in Chennai, Fort Museum was constructed in the year 1948. Supervised by the management of Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), the museum displays an antique collection of historic items and valuables like arms, uniforms, medals, porcelains, coins, manuscripts, paintings, prints and textiles.

Here, you would find unique artefacts from the British and French East India times as well as the Mughal Raj and Muslim era. Admire the giant statue of Lord Cornwallis that stands more than 14 feet tall at the entrance of the museum and the epic canons of Tipu Sultan. The museum also houses pieces of shells that were fired during the two World Wars.
