The Mannekin Pis is a landmark of sorts in Brussels and is a fountain depicting a little boy urinating into the base of the fountain. There are many legends behind this fountain and one of them is that a man visiting Brussles lost his son in the city and upon finding him with the help of the locals gifted this fountain to them.

The Mannekin Pis is more than just a statue to the people of Brussels and the little boy has a unique costume for special occasions. Ranging from Santa suits, to national costumes, to being dressed in Judo gear or even like the mayor of Brussels, the Mannekin Pis has a varied and colourful wardrobe.

On special occasions a brass band plays near the fountain and different Belgian beers are poured out through the fountain tip and distributed to the public.
