One of the rare Sun God temples in the world, Shree Surya Narayan Swamy Temple was constructed in the year 1995. The temple is a beautiful example of Chola style architecture in rock granite.

The idol for the temple was brought from Badrinath and is about 3.3 feet in height. Below the deity are the images of Kashyapa and Aditi. You can see all gods that as you enter the courtyard. For instance, you will see Vaishnavi, Brahma, Nagaraja, Ugranarasimha, Saraswathi, Panchamukhi Ganesha, besides Surya and Adiseshasayi, showering their blessings on the devotees.

The annual fair of Surya Narayana Swamy is held on Rathasaptami day when the 32-feet ratha (chariot) is brought out and devotees pull the chariot with dedication and pious fervor.

The temple receives a large number of visitors every day, especially during fairs and festivals that are conducted on Magha Masa Sudha Trithiya.

The temple is located in heart of the Bangalore just 4 kilometres from the old airport, and is easily accessible by road.
