The arts and artefacts at Tropenmuseum have very deep meanings and tell tales of different cultures, places and people. The permanent exhibitions here document how art and culture have developed over the years in various regions across the world. While Africa south of the Sahara exhibition paints a picture of the many facets of African culture, Latin America & the Caribbean exhibition sheds lights on the art movements that took place in the Caribbean. In addition to this, there are many more displays on Dutch East Indies, New Guinea, India and West Asia. Music and Environment are two more sections at the museum which might interest you.
