Sarai Aamanat Khan is one of the several caravan sarais (resting places) built by the Mughals on the Grand Trunk Road. The purpose of the sarais was to make the otherwise long and difficult journey between Lahore and Agra an easier one.

Sarai Amanat Khan was the dwelling place and later the resting place of the great calligrapher Amanat Khan, who was the calligrapher of the most beautiful monument in India – the Taj Mahal. Although in ruins today, Sarai Amanat Khan has much history and fascinating architecture to capture your interest. Do pay a visit.
