Built around 500 years ago under the reign of Mehmud Begda, Dada Hari Ni Vav is a stepwell. It is designed to not only store water but also serve as a resting place for travellers. It is proof of the fact that water conservation was well thought of even in history. Since there is the tomb of Dada Hari at the back of the vav, it was named as Dada Hari Ni Vav.

It may be a little difficult to locate the stepwell due to a lack of signboards, but once you do find it and enter the seven-storey stepwell, it is an absolute delight. The caretaker will help you with a guided tour of the stepwell. The beautiful structure, floral sculptures, intricately carved walls and sunlight filtering through them makes it even more spectacular. Octagonal in shape, do go down to the lowest level and look upwards for a different kind of high.
