Terms and Conditions

TripAssured can be availed by the customers of MakeMyTrip in order to safeguard their bus travel bookings.

TripAssured can be purchased by the customers of MakeMyTrip while making a domestic bus booking through the MakeMyTrip Platform. You get the following benefits:

  • TRIP CANCELLATION BY BUS OPERATOR
  • ACCIDENTAL INSURNCE COVER

Insurance coverage will be complimentary. Assistance services are valid for the actual trip duration in case of a one-way trip booking. In case of a round trip booking, this is valid till trip return date or fifteen (15) days from trip start date, whichever is earlier. On the other hand, Insurance coverages are valid for the actual trip duration i.e. both one-way trip booking and round trip booking. TripAssured is a non-refundable and non-transferrable benefit.


A. TRIP CANCELLATION BY BUS OPERATOR

When the Customer opts for the TripAssured product through the MakeMyTrip Platform, MakeMyTrip hereby agrees to provide 2X refund of the amount paid by the customer at the time of making the booking (“Booking Amount”) in the following manner:

1X refund to the original payment mode + 1X refund to the wallet

MakeMyTrip hereby agrees to process the refund of 1X Booking Amount to the original payment mode through which the original booking was made by the Customer. Additionally, the remaining 1X (upto Rs 2000) Booking Amount shall be uploaded by MakeMyTrip to the Customer wallet- (validity of 3 months) maintained by the Customer on the MakeMyTrip Platform.

The Customer will be considered eligible to avail this protection cover only when the Bus Operator has cancelled the confirmed bus booking of the Customer prior to the scheduled departure and does not provide a replacement bus within 24 hours of such cancellation.

The following cases will not be covered under this protection cover:

  • The Bus breaks down after having left the source/ started the journey.
  • Customer misses the bus.
  • Bus Operator did not allow the Customer to board the bus.
  • The Customer cancels the booking.

The Customer shall have the right to initiate the claim request till the trip completion of the respective booking. The Customers can file a claim for the cover on the MakeMyTrip Platform. Alternatively, the Customer can reach MakeMyTrip customer support to register their claim.

MakeMyTrip shall not be liable to the Customer in any manner whatsoever for any failure or delay in performing its obligations as stated above due to force majeure. Force majeure means any cause beyond the reasonable control of a Party such as governmental action, war, rioting, civil commotion, fire, flood, epidemic, pandemic, including lockdown, labour dispute involving the workforce or any part thereof of the Party or an Act of God. In the event of any Force Majeure event, MakeMyTrip shall process refund of only 1X of the Booking Amount in the original payment mode.

How do you claim the benefit under the protection cover?

  • Customer shall login to MakeMyTrip Platform.
  • Customer has to choose the tab “Claim Bus Cancellation Refund” under TripAssured Header on MakeMyTrip Platform.
  • The Customer shall continue with the next steps as provided on the MakeMyTrip Platform and raise a ticket thereof.
  • A ticket update card would be available under MyTrips section for the Customer to track the update of the ticket.
  • Customer would be given an update within 72 hours. In case the claim is Approved – customer would be given the promised benefits as per the terms of these terms and conditions.
  • In case the claim request is Rejected – Customer would be given an option to raise a ticket again.

B. ACCIDENTAL INSURNCE COVER

The Travel Insurance as a complimentary inbuilt product underwritten by Acko General Insurance Limited (“Insurance Provider”) consists of following benefits:

It is hereby clarified that in the event the customer does not take the trip under the booking, the customer is not eligible to avail the benefit under the personal accidental cover.

The Claim process shall be as per the applicable terms and conditions provided by the Insurance Provider. The customers opting for TripAssured may contact the Insurance Provider on the toll-free number 18002662256 and/or send an email at mmtcare@acko.com.


General Terms:

  • The amount uploaded to the Customer wallet maintained with MakeMyTrip shall be used only for future bookings on MakeMyTrip Platform, without any restriction, for a period of Three (3) months from the date of credit, post which the amount would expire.
  • All the terms and conditions as may be applicable for MyCash shall be applicable in relation to the amount uploaded pursuant to this Program.
  • MakeMyTrip shall not be responsible for any delay, improper services provided by the provider of services, for any injury, death, loss or damage caused by the act or default of the management or employees of provider who are MakeMyTrip’s independent contractors.
  • MakeMyTrip does not accept responsibility for losses and additional expenses, due to delays or changes in air, train, ships or other services, missed connections, sicknesses, weather, strikes, quarantine or other causes, howsoever caused, and all such losses and expenses caused must be borne by the Customer.
  • Any date change may incur an additional charge and the same shall be applicable on the basis of the new date selected by the customer as per the respective provider policy.
  • MakeMyTrip shall not be liable for any loss or damage arising due to force majeure event.
  • In the event of any misuse or abuse of the Program by the Customer or travel agent, MakeMyTrip reserves the right to deny the offer or cancel the booking.
  • MakeMyTrip shall not be liable to for any indirect, punitive, special, incidental or consequential damages arising out of or in connection with the Program. Notwithstanding anything contrary contained hereunder, in no event the aggregate liability of MakeMyTrip under this Program shall exceed the amount paid for booking the Program.
  • Disputes, if any, arising out of or in connection with this offer shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Gurugram.
  • All other terms and conditions as listed in the User Agreement and the Privacy Policy available on MakeMyTrip Platform will be applicable to this Program. The User Agreement and Privacy Policy are available on the MakeMyTrip website https://www.makemytrip.com. Customers, who are Travel Agents by occupation, are barred from making bookings for their customer’s and MakeMyTrip reserves the right to deny the offer against such bookings or to cancel such bookings.
