About Denpasar Bali (DPS)

Rebuilt after the gruesome puputan massacre of 1906, Denpasar Bali is an ancient capital city of the Indonesian province of Bali. The city is a land full of ancient trails, with the magnificent historic sites posing as proud witnesses of the city's history. You can see marvellous art centre, sprawling museums and cheap markets. The land is truly blessed by nature's bountiful beauty. Badung River divides the city, and merges into the Gulf of Benoa. Due to its nearness in location to south of equator, the city of Denpasar has a tropical wet and dry climate, a comfortable tourists' visiting season. Religion takes an important seat in Denpasar, which can be understood from the brilliant buildings. You can detect the richness in its culture from the giant historic structures like Museum Negeri Propinsi Bali, Pura Jagatnatha, Bajra Sanshi Monument, Taman Wedhi Budaya, Pura Maospahit amd Puputan Square. Of all these structures, Pura Jagatnatha (state temple built in 1953) and Pura Maospahit (oldest temple established in 14th century). Puputan Square is a classic urban park here located across Pura Jagatnatha. This park is popular among locals and tourists alike who come at lunchtime and near sunset. There is also a giant market in JI, Sulawesi. Apart from this you can enjoy an amazing culinary experience at multitude of restaurant and fast food chains. Those who have great love for shopping can hurl towards Kumbasari market which is located opposite of Badung's river, in GajahMads street. It is a traditional market, 24 hours open, which sells daily needed and unique art and craft products.
