Location: A sprawling 40-acre lush green territory, just a 20-minute drive from the entrance of Bandhavgarh National Park, makes TAJ Safari Lodge a great place to stay in Madhya Pradesh.The Jabalpur airport is 161 kmfrom the lodge, while the nearest railway station is the Umaria Railway Station (35 km).
Room Amenities: The 12 air-conditioned suitesare accessible through a private courtyard. Inspired by the rural life, the interiors feature wooden shutters, mud-colored walls and handmade pottery roof tiles. The suites offer comfortable furniture and a modern bathroom with twin hand basins, indoor shower and bath. The lodge offers forest view from most rooms.
Hotel Facilities: With a dense forest on its periphery, the lodge has converted traditional jungle village huts to contemporary luxury suites. The encompassing Bandhavgarh National Park is home to boars, leopards, nilgai, rhesus macaque, hyenas, porcupines, jackals and wild dogs. The hotel can arrange for a safari in an open eight-seater vehicle guided by a trained environmentalist. In addition, the lodge comprises a Safari shop, library and swimming pool. Leisure activities include traditional Indian games of marbles and Chaupad, while the lodge also offers bicycles to help explore the area near the park.
Dining: The lodge offers three sumptuous meals. The special Baghiya breakfast can be relished amidst the lush greenery of a park, followed by a light lunch served by the swimming pool, watering hole or the guests private courtyard. Dinner is usually served under the starlit sky on open terraces, with the option to be seated under a Mahua tree illuminated with indigenous lanterns. An indoor arrangement to relish a traditional meal is also available.
