Our experience at The British Resort, Shimla, was quite disappointing. We had booked the British Royal Suite, expecting a charming, British-style ambiance, but the room was dusty and poorly maintained. Even though there was a fireplace, guests were not allowed to use it. Eventually, we downgraded our room, but unfortunately, none of the rooms had the British-era vibe the resort claims to offer. the staff were extremely polite and helpful, and the food service was excellent. The resort is also dog-friendly, which is a plus for pet owners.Overall, while the hospitality and food were impressive, the rooms and overall maintenance did not live up to expectations or the price charged. Not really worth the money.

The location is amazing. very quiet and serene. Within the easily reachable distance from all the tourist spots. The rooms are big and spacious. It has ample parking space. Their main course is good be it veg or non veg but their starters, soups, breakfast menu was not that great. We had dinner there during both nights as it was great.

Food was amazing and staff was polite and supportive only thing was variety of food was missing if you includ three times meal in your package Same type of food would be served to you . Except this overall experience was amazing and definitely I recommend my friends and family to visit once to get the experience.

A family Trip at the British Resort that felt like homecoming

Travelling with two kids and my in-laws, I was a little anxious about comfort and food options, but Shimla British Resort exceeded every expectation. We stayed in two Scottish Villa Rooms, which were connected via a small garden path — perfect for our group. The interiors were cozy with beautiful woodwork and antique furniture that gave the place real character. Every morning, Babita would greet us with fresh chai and toast in the outdoor seating area while the kids explored the garden filled with marigolds and daisies. One afternoon, they even arranged a short guided nature walk along the pine forest trail behind the property — the kids spotted a woodpecker and were thrilled! Evening dinners were a delight: warm rotis, butter chicken, and jeera rice, all served with care. They even remembered my mother-in-law prefers less spice. We left feeling pampered, relaxed, and with memories we’ll cherish for a long time.

Our second evening at the resort was unforgettable — we sat at the rooftop restaurant just as the sun dipped behind the hills, casting golden light over Shimla. The chef recommended the tandoori platter and it was absolutely delicious — smoky, perfectly spiced, and served piping hot. I travel-led with my beagle, ****in, and was genuinely touched by how pet-welcoming this place was. The staff greeted her like a little celebrity! they even set up a small water bowl in the room and let her run around the garden during our morning walks. In the evening, cook inderjeet prepared plain chicken and rice just for her. It made both of us feel at home.

We stayed for 2 nights in the British Royal Suite — spacious, warm, and filled with charming old-world furniture. On our first evening, Kartik surprised our daughter with a small bowl of hot chocolate and marshmallows in the lounge— such a thoughtful touch! The rooftop restaurant offered stunning views of snow-capped peaks during breakfast, and Chef Inderjeet prepared a mild dal-khichdi just the way our son likes it. From Nature Walks to Rooftop Dinners

We checked into the Danish Imperial Room with a balcony, and the view of the deodar forest was breathtaking. Each morning, we took a peaceful nature walk along the trail just behind the property — birds chirping, cold breeze, total bliss. In the evening, we ordered the chef’s special tandoori platter and had dinner on the rooftop — the lights of Shimla below us and piping hot food made it unforgettable. Teena was super sweet and even brought extra blankets without us asking! A must visit stay in Shimla City

relaxed evenings & homely food: every evening at shimla british resort felt like a warm hug. after the chill of the day, we’d sit around the bonfire with a hot bowl of soup and fresh chinese snacks. the food tasted just like home — comforting, flavorful, and made with love. the lawn area is nice and has a relaxing atmosphere. the room size is good and the while the view from the rooms is forest view, it is nemserizin. will definitely book this property again in my next trip to shimla.. ok done
