Hotels Near Higginbotham's Bookstore, Ooty

We were told and shown pictures of a nicely maintained swimming pool and we booked this hotel only because they had the swimming pool in the amenities mentioned in makemytrip. When we reached there, the swimming pool was not at all amenable for swimming... Water was not changed at all and when we asked about the pool, they told us that "we have to pay Rs. 4000/- from our hand" to recycle the pool. When we opened the windows of our allotted room, we had a very bad smell come from the windows making our stay in the room horrible.. Our check-out time was allotted as 12 pm, but we were asked to leave by 11 pm in a rigid manner... Service was very bad making us feel like why we have been there???

Excellent overall experience. Loved the stay and the service provided by the ever courteous staff. Freshly prepared food served in the room was a bonus! Special mention to Mr George who was always there with suggestions. You are and your team are doing great! Keep it up!

We have been staying at The Grange whenever we visit Ooty, for almost three years now. The rooms are very clean and neat. The food is good, though a little expensive. All members of the staff are very polite and courteous, prompt to respond whenever you call them . The dining room is also maintained very clean and neat. Food served is always hot, fresh and tasty . The hotel though located in the heart of Ooty, is very quiet and peaceful once you are in their premises as the entire building is set far back from the Ooty-Conoor road which is a busy thoroughfare . Keep up the good service !!

It was a great experience. The hotel is like a home. Food was very good. And the best part that it very near to botanical garden. Which is the first sight seeing. All over I would recommend this.

Rooms were very small, just sufficient to fit a double bed only. There was no proper ventilation in them. Bed sheet were not clean. They were almost like lodge. Only thing okay was breakfast and washrooms.

Good service .. Located near the Ooty main bus stand, botanical garden, rose garden, Ooty lake/boat house .. Rooms were clean and good .. Restaurant food was too good and tasty .. Easy to travel to places from the hotel

Good but not great, cleaning can be a done at regular intervals. No regular caretaker to reach out. Located near 500 meters from market and good restaurants. Can reach any place by taking an auto. Bye

Good Hotel for family stay . Liked the location and staff are good in helping on request . Can improve on cleanliness . Room was not cleaned on daily basis . Since it's bit old property . They can think about improving certain facilities . Apart from this very decent hotel to stay .
