The Ramgarh Bungalows is spread across 6 Cottages which are located in close proximity to each other. These are at a walking distance of 300 metres to 500 metres from each other. Rooms in the same price range may or may not be in the same cottage. Within the category of rooms there are different rooms with unique sizes, decor, and characteristics. Thus it may differ from the photograph visible.
These most admired 19th century colonial bungalows are located adjacent to orchards of apricots, plums, peaches, pears and apples. Besides, a unique location, The Ramgarh Bungalows offers in-house delicious Indian & Continental food and convenience of laundry along with local sightseeing on extra payment. Similarly, a prior request is required to avail services of taxi and transfer to railway station. Situated at Ramgarh (Malla) in the lap of Kumaon Hills, this heritage property offers comfortable and well facilitated accommodations in 15 rooms and cottages.
In addition to a DVD player (on request) and tea/coffee maker in all rooms have writing desk and daily newspaper. Satellite televisions are available in some specific room categories. Other chargeable amenities include fruit basket and fireplace. All private bathrooms come with shower area, geyser and toiletries.
This property is divided into multiple bungalows located at 5-10 minutes drive between each other with kitchen being at only in main bungalow and rest are catered through transport for food. Location is far but its worth the travel for peaceful and a stay between hills and fresh air. You would love the early morning sun, breakfast overlooking the hills and birds chirping nearby. The property comes at costly food and amenities but probably because of its secluded location. Having you own car for going here is recommended else be prepared to pay heavy for a hired taxi everyday for any closeby locations like Nainital, Bhimtal, Mukteshwar. Stay here beyond 2 days would not be recommended who likes hustle and people around. Staff is friendly and would make you feel comfortable.

It was the exact kind of place we were looking for. Pretty and peaceful. The cold weather was an added bonus. Food was very simply and nicely made and served on time. The freshly baked biscuits with evening tea was the best.

Beautiful Location, delicious food and amazing services.
A perfect place to relish your time with loved ones and embrace nature's charm. Food in terms of taste and quality is extraordinary. People over there do everything to make or trip special.
The Ramgarh Bungalows property consists of four bungalows spread across Ramgarh valley. These bungalows are called The Old Bungalow, Ashok Vatika, Writer's Bungalow and The Cliff House. The first three are from circa 1850. All of these bungalows have been restored very well and offer a very comfortable stay. I was visiting this property for a second time after 4 years and we stayed in Ashok Vatika on both these occasions. All bungalows have very well done rooms and each has its own unique charm. I personally liked Ashok Vatika for open lawns around the property which were fun for our two year old as she chased butterflies and collected trinkets and treasures of the rustic orchards surrounding the bungalow.
The food they serve is homely and delicious and staff is exceptionally warm. The property is an exceptional value for money and offers a perfect setting to just chill, soak in the peace and serenity, enjoy the lovely mountain and valley views, admire the orchards that surround the property, be amazed at the lovely butterflies and birds that you will see at the orchards.
Tip: If you are travelling in a large group. Ashok Vatika offers 2 large rooms (3 pax) and 2 smaller rooms.

If you just want to chill and enjoy the peace and serenity, this is the perfect place. A property in the middle of fruit orchards is a paradise when the trees are laden with Peaches, Plums, Apples, Pomegranates, Cherries and Kiwis and several varieties of birds and butterflies can be seen right outside your rooms. The property offers a variety of rooms in four bungalows: The Old Bungalow, The Writers Bungalow, Ashok Vatika and The Cliff House. The first three are British era properties from 1860s and have been beautifully restored to enable you to travel back in time and enjoy the victorian charm in this picturesque setting.
I had stayed in this property in Dec-2013 earlier and revisited last month in Nov-17 and absolutely loved the place. I had stayed in Ashok Vatika on both these trips. All properties have their own charm, but I loved Ashok Vatika due to its setting right in the middle of the orchard and open areas around the property. They have 4 rooms in Ashok Vatika. Blue and Green are large rooms with a small entry room with a single bed and a large bedroom that overlooks the valley. From Blue room you can enjoy sunrise and sunset from the Green room. Pink and Yellow are smaller rooms and are connected to the dining room.
The property offers complimentary breakfast (which is usually served out in a beautiful setting in outdoors) and high tea in the evening. Lunch and Dinner is also reasonably priced and the buffet offers several options to choose from. Food is very well prepared and the service staff throughout the property is outstanding and extremely warm and helpful.
There are several trail walks and small hikes that you can take from this property and if you just want to enjoy the lovely view, natural beauty, chirping of birds, pretty flowers and colorful butterflies and the winter sun. Just stay at the property and enjoy the delicious food and their warm service. Kids will love the place as they will spend hours collecting nature's trinkets here (acorns, pine cones and dried chesnuts)

I visited Ramgarh in the month of April with family and it will be an experience I cherish. The hotel and its staff were very helpful and very hospitable. Apart from the lovely view from the dining area, the hotel itself has such a lovely old world charm. It is quite affordable for a family trip or for groups of four. The rooms are spacious, clean linen and wonderful woodwork. A special mention must be made of the food there, undoubtedly one of the best experiences I have had food wise. Lavish spreads made to perfection. Desserts were simply beyond delicious. It has been one of the best stays I have had in a long time.
