familyNo power in room, no hot water, no complimentary drinks as mentioned in description, no kettle in room, no toiletries are provided. Hotel has no restaurant and will get food from outside. If the dish you ordered is not available they will get anything without checking with you. No power to charge your phone also. They do not serve breakfast

Dear Ambujan, we really do regret for the inconvenience caused. Monsoon retreats ecostay is actually a conservation oriented venture where the agricultural landscape has been converted into jungle kind for ecological reestoration. Since the property is managed by me and my family, unlike downtown hotels, there might have been delayed in services especially in restoration of electricity. We do have generator at property, therefore the power connection will be restored within stipulated time. Hotwater is operated via gas at property therefore even at power failure or at voltage fluctuation, that service never be disturbed. We just need to open the tap and wait for few mins, it will automatically get activated. We do realise that, lack of proper communication has lead to all these. In Future, definitely we look forward to serve you in a better way. Thank you

one of the best places i’ve stayed so far rooms are clean, even in a tree house, best it’s completely secluded, you can just relax in the balcony in a forest like environment, yet very near and well connected. special thanks to subish ( a kind host) and many thanks to ma’am very kind hearted ♥️

Decent ecostay - worth the money

The ecostay was pretty decent and good for the price charged. Ambience was really good and located near city center. Food quality and variety can be improved. Measures can be taken to control insects like cockroaches and others inside. The room.

Went with my family. Had a pleasant stay with them. The surrounding was good with full of trees and it was good to See. Its little bit hard to find the location. Other then that everything was great.

The room was smelling when we entered and the was rooms were not too clean. Towels were not provided by default and when we asked for it, only one towel was brought saying that another one will be brought soon, but we never got it. We requested for cleaning the room in the morning 5 times and they cleaned one room not the other. Also we were charged extra for cleaning the other room that we booked. I think the staff in the facility was very less and hence it was difficult to manage.

Dear Guest, Monsoon retreats is a home stay run by our family with two staffs. Therefore the availability of staffs that too early in the morning is not possible. Your arrival on that day was right after the check out of our previous guest, hardly giving time for proper ventilation which might have, if any, resulted in that smell. I do really apologies for such discomfort but all our rooms are treated well with Lemon grass oil as we don't use chemicals for cleaning the room. Since we only have 5 Tree cottages, we do make sure that each rooms are properly cleaned each time. I also do remember charging you people very minimum because someone from your team had vomited in the bed, duvet and also on the floor. If the vomiting was near wash basin or toilet or floor, we would never had charged but it was on bed and duvet which will cost as more than what we have charged. Anyway thank you for your feedback, We will make sure that your genuine discomfort would be rectified next time. In case, if you are planning to visit our jungle, do call me directly, will assure you our best service. Thank you, MONSOON RETREATS

Staying in MONSOON RETREATS villa is a good experience altogether. It is located by the river which is very beautiful. The scenic beauty is great. The rooms are separated and the food served was fresh and tasty.

A feel of jungle cottages in city

Stayed overnight at monsoon retreat. This was near to city but gave a perfect forest cottage experience. The cottage was neat and clean, had a good view overlooking trees, bushes and spice plants. The host was good and helping. Breakfast was home made. Authentic Kerala food. The only things which could have been better. Bottled water was not available. Other was that we got up at 5 AM for the Periyar boating and would have loved a tea kettle for an early morning tea which was not there. But overall a very nice experience.
