Hotels in Chumbong, Pelling
Good place to stay while visiting Pelling. It's serene, very well located, nice hotel with good layout, bringing right mix of luxury & nature and helping you relax. The housekeeping staff is cordial and cooperative and the food is good. It has a very good view to Kanchendzonga mountains. The Front office staff needs to be more cordial and supportive in making the stay and visit better for their guests. They need to provide right information, be more approachable and help guests in exploring the place with more ease. Some of the facilities claimed are neither available properly nor the front office tells you about them clearly.

It was a very nice stay. I want to specially recommend the staff and the manager. Hats off to their service and hospitality. The place is remote but awesome. If you want to spend some quality time with yourself or with your near and dear ones. This place is perfect. You can view the range of kanchenjungha clearly and it looks so nearby. The staff are always at your service. The food was awesome and very reasonable. I just loved the place and will definitely visit in future.

Only two top quality resorts in pelling ie, Chumbi residency & magpie chestnut retreat. Difference in price is huge, however it varies from season to season. The ambience, locality and the way property is maintained is excellent. Two important point needs attention: you can't move without an attached car, it's located at an isolated place. Secondly no room service in late hours, even you won't find anyone at reception.

My hotel booking was at "White Orchid" but the manager provided "The Dzongri Retreat". No room service. You have to take your food from White Orchid. We were there for three days but they did not clean the room & change the bed sheet. No telephone or intercom. In case of any requirement we have to climb down & request them. Servants did not know how to be behave with guests! 24 hours hot water is a dream in this hotel. Location is far below from upper Pelling but they addressed as upper Pelling. For finding the hotel our driver needed 20 minutes. After sunset it is impossible to reach the hotel from the petrol pump/SBI Atm. You must carry a good torch to reach the hotel safely. The only good thing is that you can see Kanchenjunga clearly from the hotel.

I stayed here for Two nights and booked it after a lot of research as my sole objective of visiting Pelling was to spot the Kanchenjunga. Initially had a little confusion in locating the hotel as Google was showing the wrong lane but finally with help from locals was able to locate it. We were allotted a room with a great view and the size of the room was also generous. They served nice healthy Veg food and the staff was helpful and courteous. I got a great deal on MMT and felt this was definitely value for Money. Unfortunately the weather remained cloudy for most of my stay and I couldn't spot the kanchenjunga but on the last day early morning I could for about 10-15 mins. Highly Recommended.

Good location, room was OK but bathroom was not clean properly and foul smell was there in bathroom. Location was good but we were not able to watch the watch the kanchanjanga hills view as the room at that location was already booked. Overall it was a good experience..
