Location: Just 600 m from Kanchipuram district sports stadium, Hotel Tamil Nadu is hardly 100 m from Old Railway Station, 2 km from New Kanchipuram Railway Station and 1 km from Kanchipuram Bus Stand.
While you are in Kanchipuram, do visit Sri Varadharaja Perumal Temple (100 pillared Mandapam) and Kailasanathar Temple, both within 3.5 km.
Room Amenities: The hotel offers double bed deluxe air-conditioned rooms and family rooms that can accommodate up to eight beds. Most of the rooms have attached bathroom with hot and cold water supply and basic bath amenities. The rooms are equipped with wooden closet, chair, comfortable bed, telephone and television.
Hotel Facilities: The hotel provides doctor on call, wake-up call service and newspapers in the lobby. The hotel has backup power generator in the event of power failure.
Dining: The hotel has an on-site restaurant that serves delicious food. Guests can visit Anjanaas Restaurant for Asian food (500 m) and Desert Dragon restaurant for non-vegetarian food (2 km).
Good. On all aspects of hospitality, ambience, service, food, cleanliness and location centrally

It's not that great offering for the money they charge. Very average looking rooms, not neat beds, no drinking water, no proper door locks, very old A/C which makes huge noise disturbing the sleep and no temperature control. Service also pathetic.

I and my friend took two hotel rooms at Hotel TamilNadu, Kanchipuram for a day. Room was big but wasn't tidy. Bathroom doesn't seems very clean. The bed was full of moisture and Bedsheets/Pillow weren't clean. Room had lots of mosquito as well.
Wasn't a great experience I would say for the price.

The main issue we faced was Manager there asked us to pay extra 750 rupees to check in as their new rates were not updated in MMT, then we contacted MMT customer care and MMT accepted to bear the extra charges.
Rooms were decent but not worth for the money we paid.
Overall good experience

The overall experience in this hotel was good. I aboded this hotel during September. The location of the hotel was good in the city. The appearance of this hotel was good looking. The staff were cooperative and friendly in the hotel. I faced no delay in any services. I did not take food in the hotel. The room in this hotel was good with required amenities. No activities seen in this hotel.
No tv, clock in 4 bedded room. Very old room with big heavy fans and old furniture. Front of the room is large empty space with no maintenance and mud and bushes growing anywhere. Terrible food at restaurant, they don't understand orders properly and serve different goods. Drinking water is dubious whether it is clean and fit for consumption.

Location is in a quite place. However there is a railway track close by so one can hear a passing train now and then. Hotel looked to be empty when we checked in into double AC room. Rooms are big, bed sheets are clean, A/c was working fine. Service is OK. Service boys always looking for tips. Breakfast and lunch was decent in the restaurant. Not much variety for breakfast except idli, vada, pongs and upma. Lunch was meals. Complimentary breakfast and lunch/dinner.
Did not get hot water although geyser was on. Plenty of parking space. Quite remote place but those looking to stay for the night and spend their morning time outside, this is OK as the rates are much lower than other hotels which are on the busy street and costly. This hotel is a bit far from the temples (average 1. 5 km away).
A typical govt hotel where basics can be expected. Staff is friendly and attend to calls. Bills are not given in restaurant. Overall it is OK to stay if you are on a tight budget and don't mind the service provided and prefer to be at the hotel for some rest in afternoon and sleep at night.

It was a holiday trip with family in the month of December. The city was good. The environment of the hotel was excellent as it was near to the lake and market. The appearance of the hotel was very good. The room provided for us was well maintained and was very neat and clean. All the amenities were provided and were in good condition. There were Wi-Fi facilities available. The front office services were good and responded very well. The staff's were very cooperative and were excellent. The food provided was good and delicious. The service provided at the hotel was excellent.

Hotel Tamil Nadu in Kanchipuram looks very good from the outside but is not so from the inside. The place is infested with bed bugs and all the bathrooms have cockroaches running around.
It offers all the basic amenities such as hot water and TV. It also has a restaurant attached to it and the breakfast is complimentary. Both AC and non AC rooms are available. But it lacks basic hygiene and really needs to get a pest control done.
Also, the place is overpriced, as we ended paying over Rs. 2000 for a room with 2 beds and another extra bed. They also refused to give us another extra bed (we wanted 2 extra beds, but got only 1).
Overall, I would not recommend this place to anybody as there are a lot of cheaper and insect free options in Kanchipuram.
