The location is perfect for a jungle experience. Staff is very polite. Improvements can be made in customer experience. Booked four rooms- one room lacked electricity and water, one room smelly and shabby. Food options limited and of poor quality. Had to
I was taken to this resort in my first visit to Masinagudi and I was amazed by the setting of the Glen View Resort. The resort is 40 km from Ooty and around 5 km inside from the road leading to Mysore. They have around 7 rooms including a tree top house with a restaurant.. The rooms are surrounded by the jungle with some fabulous views. If you are lucky you could see a tusker right outside your room. We spotted a wild boar. The resort can organise a jungle safari on request.
The room package includes food since guests don't have access to outside food. The food served is good with courteous staff. For the evening there is bonfire, apart from that there are swings, table tennis table, among things to spend some quiet time. So if you are looking for a quiet place to spend in jungle then you can consider Glen View.

Overall good and decent spot to spend your weekend away from Cosmo life. Food was the major drawback throughout lunch and dinner they had almost the same menu and North Indian cuisine only. As it is in Tamil Nadu we expected great traditional food or at least basic regional food.
Just in case if you are staying for more than a day then food will bore you.
Other amenities they had was a Tarpaulin jumper and shuttle bats that's all.
The place is worth the visit for us for its natural beauty.
Their safari's are expensive so if you are on your own vehicle then use the same the roads are good.

Here is my distasteful experience with those at the helm of reservations and cancellations at Glenview Resort.
I had booked the Irula Hut on Dec 1 for 3 people for a total of 3 days stretching from Dec 30th to Jan2. The total tariff comes to INR 20,439. I paid a booking amount of INR 4000 on the same day. I hadn't read any reviews before my booking. I was overwhelmed by the authentic jungle experience that the resort promised to provide. I had been wanting to experience exactly that on many of my trips but ended up in concrete furnished resorts. So this time Glen view seemed like the ideal option.
But things were not meant to go according to plan. One of my friends who was equally excited to travel got an onsite opportunity for which he had to leave to the US by Mid December. So on Dec 3, I called up Mr. Hussain who was listed as the Resort's manager to let him know of the situation and that I would be visiting them sometime next year. He asked me to contact him directly in case of reservations the next time. For cancellations he asked me to contact Ms. Sarah. This is the same Ms.Sarah from Bangalore who I had contacted for my booking previously and told her about the cancellation.
She asked me to send a mail stating the cancellation to the reservation desk and to the manager. I did send the mail on the same day. No reply from them for about 4 days. I called her up again on a saturday, she said she would be sending a confirmation email for the cancellation with the date on which the amount would be refunded. No mail received again for 3 days. I called her up again on Monday and this time she cut my call saying she would call me back in 10 minutes.
I received an email from the reservation desk on Dec 8 finally. This email confirmed the cancellation and also had the following statement:
Information sent to your mail id stating that 15% booking amount is non-refundable.
The balance will be refunded.
Their booking confirmation email had the following statements:
No Refund for cancellations made in less than two days before check-in date <Not inclusive of the check-in date>
50% of tariff refund for cancellations made in less than two weeks and prior to two days before check in date <Not inclusive of the check-in date>90% of tariff refund for cancellations made prior to two weeks before check-in date <Not inclusive of the check-in date>
Today I received an email stating the following:
The booking you have made on the 1st Dec 2015 and paid 20% that is Rs.4000 and requested for cancellation and refund. The refund has been made of Rs.1000/- on 9/12/2015.
I got infuriated. I had paid INR 4000 as the booking amount and the cancellation mail clearly mentioned that 15% of the booking amount in non-refundable. But now Ms.Sarah says that the actual booking amount is the total tariff of the resort which for my trip was INR 20,439. She also said that I had not paid the entire amount and 15% of 20000 which is 3065 is non refundable and the rest which is INR 1000 has been refunded.
How does this statement adhere with that of "15% booking amount is non-refundable". These people are money minded and it clearly shows. I have been robbed off INR 3000 for a single day of confirmed booking. I had cancelled my booking 28 days prior to my trip and still I lost 75% of what I had paid. How does this adhere with the statement - 90% of tariff refund for cancellations made prior to two weeks before check-in date <Not inclusive of the check-in date?
And now when I told Ms. Sarah that whatever they are trying to do it's not worth it. I also told them I am going to write a review of the hassles they have caused in such a simple process and that too to a potential guest who was willing to make it to their resort some other time. But even then she stood by her statement that the 15% mentioned in the mails was 15% of the total tariff.
This is shameful behavior and it definitely shows the mindset of those in charge. Mr. Ajeesh, would you care to reply for this latest dishonourable remark against you, your people in charge and you changing the stance on published policy statements about cancellations? Do you at all care that people must visit your resort in the future and that you must keep up your reputation? Or do you plan on making substantial profits on cancellations alone? If you do not reply I would take it that you do make most of your profits through illicitly cryptic cancellation policies and that your resort and the facilities are a show, a scam to draw people in.
Awesome hospitality and food

This place is located in center of the jungle which is fully surrounded by bamboo trees. Rooms and huts are good, clean and neat. Campfire makes you to enjoy the moment, food and hospitality is really awesome no complaints. If possible take your vehicle and have a good drive.
