This place is for adventure and nature lovers. It is a must visit for those who want some adventure and enjoy nature.
It's a campsite, about 1. 5 hours drive from Solan (Himachal) and is situated on the banks of the river Giri. It is around a 4 hours drive from Chandigarh. The facilities are basic, as expected at a campsite, but they suffice the need. There are many fun activities and all are as described on their website. You can swim in the river, dive or jump from a cliff, trek to a very nice waterfall nearby, which is a little difficult trek.
I travelled with family and stayed in their log huts. They do have an option of tents and when there are more people the only option is tents as they have only 3 log huts. It is one of the best holidays we have ever had. The approach to the place is itself about a 45min walk from the last motorable road. They provide help in getting your luggage across, though you must travel light. It's a fun walk, crossing the river and trekking through the forest. You cannot get to the campsite without crossing the river. However, they do have a zipline to cross the river and we used the same on our return journey, so as to remain dry.
This place is not for those who expect luxury and a big food menu. The food provided is simple and tasty and home cooked. You need to be able to appreciate the effort is takes for them to transport anything to the campsite and therefore be able to see that they do actually have very good facilities.
You must carry a good pair of floaters. When my floaters' sole came off, they were very kind and helpful in allowing me to borrow and use a spare pair.
The staff is very helpful and courteous, one of them will accompany you for all your adventures. The staff is ready to help at all times and contribute into making your stay a memorable one.
I would love to visit this place again.
