Avoid if your looking forward ....

The beach is not natural and pristine, the water isn’t as clear as other areas off the palm and the sand almost seems its made of construction rubble and not nice to swim in. I stayed my first night in Dubai at Al Naseem and that swim and beach were divine, perfect, so Zabeel Saray beach was quite a shock. Rooms are getting tired maintenance wise but the rooms are spotlessly clean, beautiful, comfortable and enjoyable. Staff are superb and delightful unfortunately they have a shortage of staff that causes mistakes that shouldn’t hapen. I had two seperate reservations and they mixed them up. Every time I went to the desk everything was mixed up, confused and disorderly as obviously they don’t have enough reservations staff to Set up the front desk agents for success. Concierge is amazing but again they are overworked and understaffed. There was frequently only one agent on at a time and generally a que. The concierge are wonderful but I felt bad about their work load. My airport transfer dropped me off at the wrong terminal and I had to take a 10 minute taxi to get to the correct terminal. Again I would credit this to lack of staff as in order to process a booking for the shuttle you need to provide your flight detail. Obviously they didn’t have enough staff to process the information full circle to get me to the right terminal. Still I enjoyed my stay because of the ambience and the amazing attitudes and efforts of staff. I am glad I stayed and experienced it. I will cherish that memory but they could do so much better with a few more behind the scene staff to set up the front f house. Spa was amazing. Loved my stay overall

My wife loved this hotel, I'm a drinker and i didn't so much... Really over priced everything (drink Wise) took the fun out of it a little for me. Aslo when you check in they want £500 from you for (hotel expenses) i said i pay cash when i leave im not giving you this. They say "fine sir" 2 days later i get a note under the door telling me to pay my bill for a few drinks from the mini bar and an over priced bottle of wine.... So i tell them look ill pay the bill on leaving (cash) i felt pushed into having to pay for these drinks 2 days in so did... Then every few days i kept getting these letters . I have never been in a hotel where you have to pay prior to what you are going to have i didn't like this at all and made me feel less inclined to pay for things at the hotel ( not sure what Guests they normally get .... this aside the food was very good but once again silly money for drink if you going to have a meal you need to have wine with it and paying £100 for a nasty bottle of California white was not something i was going to do. Water please . If they want to charge silly money fine do it at the pool bar, room and Hotel bar. But when you have a nice meal us in the west like a wine pairing so with out this offer the meal is really let down as good as the food is... Lots of nice smiles and thank you sirs that's nice if you like all that. Its a nice hotel but if your a drinker stay clear .

60th Birthday Trip

My wife and I stayed here as part of a trip to far east and Dubai to celebrate my 60th birthday. This hotel is amazing and we felt special from the moment we checked in (upgraded to a deluxe room due to my birthday) and then the whole four days we were there. We had booked a half board plan, which was definitely worth it as you can eat in any of the seven (I think) restaurants here and at many other hotel restaurants in Dubai. We ate in The Emperium, The Lebanese and the Italian restaurants, which were all very good. We had two free sundowner drinks each for each of the nights we were there and it was really pleasant to sit by the beach with a nice drink before dinner each day. The hotel runs a complimentary shuttle bus (every two hours) which takes you to the Mall of The Emirates from where you can easily get the superb Metro to most parts of the city. Lovely stay and hope to return
