Characteristic Hotel in the he....
My partner and I checked into the hotel on Thursday 19.04.2018 for a birthday weekend away. The location is perfect for getting around the area, for us we had a hire car so for public transport I am not so sure but I hear it is good and free.
The staff were excellent and could not do enough for you. There was a free drink on arrival.
The hotel is undergoing renovation at the moment, so please understand you may hear a drill sometimes but that is fine and in now way impacts the experience. I would stay here again even if there are building works going on as it is a nice old style hotel in a great location with a good price rate.
Special thank you to all the staff on reception, they were amazing and should be proud of the job they do. It does seem they seem to work solo so maybe if there were 2 on duty it would be better for them.

Old but centrally located
Stayed at the Helvetie on our first visit to Montreux. It is quaint, old fashioned but not dilapidated as some have mentioned. Rooms are basic but clean. The room we stayed in was a good size, no great view as we where on the 1st floor and not toward tbe lake. Yes the style is dated but we found it charming. Some noise from the street, mainly traffic but beds very comfortable so had no problem sleeping.
Staff are very friendly and helpful.
Wifi is fast and free.
No tea/coffee making facilities in the room but you can get a flask of hot water if needed.
Hotels location is great for accessing local attractions, restaurants, etc especially with the Riveria Card which you get issued with by the hotel giving free public transport around the local area.
We were perfectly happy with the hotel, yes you can get better but then they come at a price. Would happily stay here again.

Full marks on service and loca....
We stayed here for 1 night in May and it was a nice experience. We reached Montreux early in the morning and took a bus which dropped us directly in front of the hotel. Though they did not allow early check-in, they stored our luggage and requested us to rest in the lobby area. The rooms are spacious and charming, and equipped with basic utilities like hair dryer and kettle. The service is great too. Also, the location is good with Chillon Castle and shopping area close by. Great stay overall!

Old hotel and undergoing renov....
Had a 1-night stay here. It’s an old hotel and classic looking. It’s undergoing some renovation. It’s comfortable enough for 1 night. Not a big fan of the the bathroom but it’s typical of the old style.

Good location for public trans....
Good location , ideal for local bus stop 2 seconds outside door. Five minutes to the lake and 10 mins to the main railway station
Good supermarkets and eating places nearby. Close to main tourist sites CHateau Chillion around 15 mins on the trolley bus or half hour walk along lake.
Ensure you get your free tourist card from the hotel entitling you to free buses
Room was at the back of the hotel . Small clean and comfortable.
If you appreciate historic architecture you will enjoy the lobby area and entrance of this hotel. It is going through a renovation, and needs it. The bathroom I had was clean but basic. Only a bath that had seen better days . Wardrobes where plentiful but very dusty so left my clothes in the case , also smelt a bit musty
Staff on reception where really helpful friendly and professional. Sadly housekeeping was a bit hit and miss. I am a tidy person so didn't need the towels tidying , however a few times I left them to see if they where tidied .... The cups where never washed either, again I can do this however it Is usually part of housekeeping. That said , it was an enjoyable stay
Breakfast not included and no tea and coffee facilities in the room. Parking on the streets nearby . metered or underground at La Marche , payable
