DISCRIMINATED ????

Three nights at this hotel was really nightmare. I have been traveling in Europe for more than 20 trips so far. I have visited Switzerland for 7 times, spent several nights in hotel in Zurich, Luzern, Interlaken, Brienz, Spiez, Montreux, etc. This was the first time that I have experienced this kind of unwelcoming. Staffs here have bad attitude towards Asian guests. What a shame! P.S. In my case CHF265 a night is not cheap rate. But a staff had refused to lend me umbrella on heavy raining day. It was unkind and narrow minded service, when they had plenty of them. The hotel could be defamed if their staffs ain’t trained and taught well how to treat guests fairly. SAD!

Worst experience

There is a staff here who discriminates Asian people. My family and I came here and we got six people. There are six people in our group; my boyfriend and I, my parents and my grandparents who are very old. We rented three rooms. One staff is not respecting my dad. We asked to rent three umbrella but they allowed only two (there are some umbrellas left.) The staff was not rejected politely. Also, he did not say sorry. We have six people in the family, we rented three rooms. Why you allowed only two umbrellas? I have traveled around Europe and this was the worst experience ever. Very disappointed. (If you are the manager, I am willing to tell which staff did this to my family. You can contact me personally.)

Fabulous view and great place ....

Stayed for 3 nights at deluxe double, lake view. The view is just too gorgeous and therapeutic . You could literally feel the aesthetic lake abd mountains. Rooms were well maintained and neat. Breakfast was really good and you could just walk down the lake side and immerse yourself with scenic beauty and A very lively place. Very friendly staff and helpful in guiding us through the city and very easy access to trains and buses. Overall beautiful experience. Highly recommended for stay.

A Room With A View

Delightfully surprised. We were given a room with a view of Lake Geneva. The view was spectacular. The hotel staff spoke English and were very accommodating - especially with getting to our tourist destinations. We were given a transportation pass that allowed us free train, tram and bus service. It also gave us 50% discount on boat cruises and museums. Waking up on a sunny day with a view of Lake Geneva - priceless.

Penny pinching beyond belief

This hotel gets by on its location, virtually right on Lac Leman or lake Geneva. We had a superior double room with a lake view. The view from the balcony is superb with the promenade and lake and mountains almost on your doorstop. The building is not modern but that is part of its charm. Yes it could do with some updating here and there but too much would spoil it. It has yesteryear feel about it. The room was quite spacious and the wi- fi worked well. However, when we arrived we found there were no tea bags in the tray with a hot water jug and no milk. There was a note stating that another 2 tea bags would cost 6 francs. Really? That was bad enough but when we returned from our touring the next day, still no milk but no more tea bags either. Apparently we were meant to have 2 tea bags to last the entire 3 days of our stay. We actually had none. When I told reception staff that I intended to mention this unusual attitude to customer service, on Trip Advisor, they hurriedly found a few tea bags and minimal milk and told me that I would not be charged for them. I would hope not. Then the same thing happened on the third day - nothing in the room. I again complained and this time was told that it is policy not to provide anything after day one and that any provision at all is a "service to our customers". I was told quite seriously that if we wanted tea bags and milk in the room every day, the room tariff would have to increase substantially. What an insult to my intelligence and what appalling customer service. The conversation finished with the hotel director agreeing to send a couple of bags and some milk to our room. When it arrived, they wanted the 6 francs for it. Just unbelievable. They would buy these bags in bulk for only a few cents each. To risk upsetting customers and getting bad reviews for the sake of a few cents per day, shows how they do not understand what customer service is. Then there is the bed. They supply a quilt which is exactly to the millimetre the same width as the bed. So only one person can lie under the quilt and have it draped slightly over the side of the bed. The other person in the bed has a quilt which then does not even cover the bed. You would think that they could have made the quilt just a bit wider to allow for draping, but no. Better to save a bit on cost. However, the beds are comfortable. The shower is in a very narrow bath with a glass half size wall attached. If you try to turn around you hit the glass. The bottom of the bath does not have any slip protection and as the area to move is so confined, it is possible to slip. Breakfast is tasty, well cooked and plenty of variety. However, there is note on the table asking customers not to leave any food because in Switzerland, we do not throw food out "for moral and ethical reasons". Perhaps they should look at articles on the internet that state that up to 33 per cent of food in Switzerland goes to waste. Why make such a bizarre statement? It is a pity that their attention to small details is so poor. They have a lovely outlook, but there are many other hotels in the same area withe same outlook and I would recommend that travellers try one of those. Give this hotel a miss.
