Basic Rooms Hotel
My wife and I spent two weeks at this hotel on a half board basis travelling with Inghams. We found the owner and staff to be very freindly and polite. The room we had was adequate, with a shower cubicle of which after a couple of days we got used too, making your own tea or coffee in the room is frowned upon, but you can borrow a flask and have hot water whenever you wish. Our room was on the first floor at the front of the hotel, allthough it was noisy when having the patio doors and windows open when closed very quiet due to newly installed triple glazing. Great view of the Jungfrau from the large balcony outside our room. We found the food to be excellent, we had a four course meal every night and every night meal was different. Although the hotel is 20 minute walk from Interlaken there is two buses No 105, 106 which run every half hour to Interlaken West and Ost. We will return to this hotel, great value for money.

Basic rooms but friendly staff
Traditional swiss chalet type, wooden floors (creaking sometimes), basic rooms with shower cubicles only (no bath tub). Great views from balcony. Quiet. Friendly staff. Basic breakfast. They still have the old door lock and long iron key (was good for a change). Staff went out of the way to wait and help, when we travelled late at night and hadn't taken the night key for the main entrance. Enjoyed stay and despite basic rooms no issues in the end.

Almost Three Star
We stayed here for eleven days in August booked with Inghams and have to agree with previous reviews regarding this Hotel. Yes it is in need of refurbishing throughout and needs air con but it is only rated as two 2*. Our room above the entrance had a tiny balcony with two chairs which couldn't be turned but at least with one you got a great view of the Jungfrau. The room (210) was ok for size and had a cramped but useable en suite with a good shower. Beds were so so and the room was uncomfortably hot at night even with the door open due to the excessive high temperatures during our stay which were between 28/32c day and low 20cs at night.
Dora as a Hostess was very polite and friendly, there were fifteen other UK guests there all half board who meet every year at this time so it is true about repeat visitors but they almost seemed like a club. There were lots of one nighters or just b&b guests.
Meals were ok with the usual continental breakfast but no plain croissants only chocolate, strange! Milk and yogurt were put out early and not kept cold but others didn't seem to mind tepid milk and yogurt. We only saw grapes put out on our last day.
Packed lunch!!! The bread in the sandwich was always dry and as mentioned before only buttered one side! It was either processed meat or processed cheese not very digestable and was often later fed to the wildlife. A bar of chocolate was included most days which couldn't be taken out due to the heat and a couple of days there was a madeleine cake, we supplemented the lunch with Brioche or similar from Lidls and an apple was included but was mostly bruised or too sour to eat.
Evening meals were good,Soup to start or if you don't like soup orange juice is available on request. You could make a salad of sorts for a second course depending what was there and the main was usually a slab of meat in a Stroganoff or Goulash type of sauce of, once we had fish. Lots of variation of potatoes and a reasonable selection of veg..
The main course and salad the only help yourself courses.
Dessert was a variation of ice cream/sorbet and cream, ocassionally some had fruit,
the room was very stuffy as it was so hot but no windows were open.
The rooms at the front are directly over the very busy road so it is always noisy.
The stairs desperately need some repair work as chunks of stonework had broken off..
As mentioned in a previous review if you are on the first floor where you share the wcs and showers you could be next to the owners rooms.
The lobby/entrance seemed to be where most guests sat as the lounge was tiny and the bar dark
If you take this Hotel on it's rating and don't expect too much it is good value all round, we thought it was almost 3*

One word - Cozy
I found this hotel while trying to book a hotel online. Could not guess much looking at the pictures on that site but the price and reviews were good so booked it.
When we saw the hotel and room we were pleasantly surprised. The rooms were super cozy and environment was homely. The view from the balcony was also very good. There is a good patisserie like 200 meters from the hotel and a resto-pub as well. There is a bus stand quite close to hotel which was very comfortable. I would recommend this place to any one and would stay there again. The owner was very hospitable.
