So convenient for access to th....
We chose Finca Salamanca for its convenient location, over half way between Tenerife South Airport and the capital Santa Cruz. This would give us quick access to the north, the central spine road the TF24 to Mount Teide, as well as the woodlands of the north and the excellent Botanical garden of Puerto de la Cruz. We loved the setting , the walled garden filled with the well managed plantation of Avocado Trees on the periphery and the many exotic trees, flowering plants and cacti making up the ornamental gardens, all of it beautifully laid out and cared for. Laughing doves, turtle doves, blackbirds and blackcaps kept up a soothing background chorus enhancing the ambience of the peaceful gardens. Room 1 at the end of a terrace had no view and very little natural light, but was more than made up for by the small patio on the north side of the room. The buffet breakfast was a perfect start for a day of walks and exploration. Even the nearby town, Guimar, was worth a visit with many historical buildings and leafy squares, as well as the nature reserve on the coast north of Puertito de Guimar.

Unfriendly welcome, overpriced....
This side of Tenerife is not exactly brimming with charm -- not THE place to base your holiday on the island -- and this hotel charged a lot and gave back very little. The parking is free (good news), but the rooms seem tired, with really old flat-panel TVs and chintzy amenities. The welcome we received was along the lines of, "Hello, give your money, here's your key, I'll show you to your room", all of which didn't melt our hearts. But, the on-side restaurant serves excellent Canarian food, has a pretty fine wine list, and won't set you back too much $$. Other than the resto, the rest of the place and the surrounding area was...meh.

So this hotel has to be one of the strangest I’ve stayed in and I travel a lot
Customer service isn’t high on their agenda despite paying 195 € a night !
Firstly on checking they insisted we paid up front in full and then sign for extras strange as they had my credit card details
Secondly I booked a double bedded superior room I went to great lengths in my correspondence to say I wanted a double bed and it was confirmed . We walked into our room and two single beds . We were then told the superior rooms don’t have double beds ! Why could they not tell us when we booked in June ?
Thirdly internet or should I say lack of internet . There are areas round the pool that say WiFi zone but we were told it doesn’t work . The only place it works is in a lounge above reception and even then badly . It beggars belief in this day and age they can’t sort this as we had spent 6 days before here in a remote hotel in the north with satellite internet at 90€ a night less
Fourthly customer service is non existent there is no one around other than a person in reception to ask for a drink or a bottle of water and even then we were told we can’t get you a drink as the restaurant is closed . Come on it’s New Year’s Eve - no we can’t allow you a drink till 9 pm ! Thank god there is a supermarket which we popped to to get a bottle of wine but when we asked for wine glasses you guessed - restaurants closed so our tooth mugs will gave to do
Finally there is no where at all to get a simple sandwich for lunch you must eat the main menu which is lovely but too fancy for lunch
We are so disappointed at this place as we chose it because of the restaurant and New Year’s Eve but why they don’t understand people do like to celebrate with a glass or two before 9 pm !

Friendly hotel with great gard....
This hotel is a bit off the beaten track but offers a great welcome, comfortable rooms with great service. The restaurant is great with a good choice of well prepared meals.
The breakfast buffet is fantastic with lots to choose from (both hot and cold).
The private gardens offer a chance to relax in peace and quiet and there is a nice pool area to have a cooling swim or enjoy the sun.
The staff are very helpful and the receptionist offered local tourist information.
We will definitely be back.

Beautiful little hotel with fr....
We had a very lucky last minute one night stay here on New Year's day and it made us tremendously happy. The place is a homely and idyllic countryside hotel with the friendliest staff ever. Everything was up to par, and the breakfast was heavenly. Obviously it's a little remote so having your own vehicle is essential. Hope to make it back one day!
