Rural Hotel at the Cradle of "....

We came to this Hotel for a short getaway and stayed two nights. The hotel is situated at the banks of Reservoir Santa Teresa in a historic, mostly ruined, village in the heart of Jamón Ibérico manufacturing. The surrounding area is very charming and many excellent sites (Salamanca, Ávila, Álba de Tormes, Candelario, Béja and the most antique bull ring in all of Spain are in easy reach. The hotel small and very nice. The rooms are spacious with beautiful views across the reservoir. We travelled with three small children and for us it was a perfect stay at a reasonable price. We would come back.

Beautiful Hotel In Medieval Vi....

I stayed in this hotel in early October to break my journey whilst driving from Bilbao to Tarifa. Location - right by lakeside so wonderful views from rooms. The village is medieval and well worth a walk around (so special I got up at 06:30 am to make sure I had a good wander around it). Bedroom - my room was beautiful - simply and well furnished with plenty of space. Common rooms/spaces - again tastefully furnished with a very relaxed ambience and lots of places to curl up with a good book. Lovely garden and terrace available to sit out in. Breakfast - I dined on my own (due to being low season) and had a lovely breakfast out on the garden terrace. Staff - All very friendly and helpful. The staff I met did not speak English and I don't speak Spanish but with ingenious use by the staff of Google Translate we managed to communicate Ok. Value for money - Incredible low season price. Could not be better. I left after 1 nights stay to continue my journey South but really wished I had had more time available to stay here. I sincerely hope to return one day.

Quiet charm, what's not to lov....

We spent two nights and loved the peace and quiet. If you take 15 minutes out of your overly scheduled lives, meander around history, and enjoy the silence, this is a lovely side trip to experience. We met a farmer and his friendly dog, a local inquisitive donkey, we watched a woman play soccer with her two kids in the middle of a street with no cars. Boring, maybe, but we loved it. The hotels restaurant is actually a locals favorite in the area. We enjoyed the expertly prepared food at dinner. The best grilled calamari I've ever eaten. Who can complain about a soup, entrée, dessert and unlimited wine and after dinner liquors for 10euros each. Complimentary breakfast was an added plus. We were fortunate to be only one of two occupied rooms during our stay, so our room with a balcony over looking the lake was extra peaceful. The staff are polite and helpful, high school Spanish was helpful as well. We enjoyed our stay. If being in the center of everything, and quiet solitude isn't your thing, this may not rock your world. We loved it and would absolutely return.

An unusual spot!

We decided to stop halfway on our journey to the Atlantic coast of Spain. Although were only staying one night it proved to be a very pleasant one. Finding the hotel was a slight challenge as it is in a small very old, previously abandoned village just a few miles off the motorway. The village is in the process of being rebuilt and refurbished. The Hotel itself has a small sign over the door so you need to keep a watchful eye. Parking is at the back of the hotel. Our room was well furnished, also very clean and comfortable with a balcony that overlooked the gardens and the lake. The restaurant served a limited menu but the food was very tasty and the meal including wine was very good value. The setting was rustic and do not expect "Big City" hotel experience but for comfort, relaxed and pleasant service - look no further.
