Location and hot water heaven
So many complaints about this place... You get what you pay for! For $20/night this is what I got. I got a room with a window with fresh air. It was small, bunkbed style, but when in Moscow exploring the city, you're doing just that, and it's just a place to sleep. Fresh sheets and two sets of towels were provided. The beds were so comfortable! Bathrooms are small, but again, comfortable. And there was always hot water! The water pressure kicked butt!! There is a grocery store next door, and you're not more than a half an hour walk to red square, metro's, markets, awesome restaurants. The main girl working spoke no English, so bring your own maps. This is Russia though, don't come with high expectations for English and you'll be fine! The door is in the back of the building, so when you find the building on Furmanny, look for the gate to go behind. Also, free laundry on site! We spent 8 days here and we'll be back!

good for a price
Stayed at this place for 1 night, was just fine. We were allowed to bring our bags 1 day earlier, thanks a lot!!!! Really saved our weekend!
What is good:
-Location! close to the subway and Kurskiy railway station and close to the Red Square.
-Nice and safe neighborhood with good restaurants, bars and shops
-Very kind and helpful stuff
-Clean toilets and they have kitchen ( small one) and a washing machine free to use that is not common at all
- PRICE, we have payed 1500 Rubles for 2 people for 1 night. How can it beat that? You have breakfast for 1000 rubbles easy in Moscow, not talking about lunch or dinner. So staying that close to the Red Square for this price is just incredible!
What is bad?
- Rooms are small and in the basement, smells like mold a little bit. However the price is basically for free so nothing to complain.

Terrible terrible Hostel.
Rooms too small for purpose. Sheets stained. No windows. Toilets too small to turn around. Showers do not hold temperature hot or cold. Staff extremely rude. Fire hazard as there are no exits and no illuminated signs. Power cut was pitch black. Rooms baking all night-no ventilation. Pillow unfit for use. Noisy all night. Tiny dirty kitchen. No flush on toilet. Taps broken. No staff on the desk. No debit or credit cards accepted. No tourist help. The Photos on the sight are MISLEADING.

Unsafe and uncomfortable
The rooms are all located in the basement of the building, apparently with no real plan in case of fire. Naturally, rooms had no windows and a noisy vent that runs day and night (and if someone comes up with the great idea of smoking in one of the other rooms, yes, you will feel as if he was smoking right in your face -- the smell will come directly from that very vent). The rooms are also very (I mean VERY) small to the extent that you are unable to stand and have your luggage on the ground at the same time. If you are a light sleeper, you might have some trouble getting a good night's sleep as you will hear pretty much to everything that happens outside your room (as doors are locked/unlocked, people walk by to/from the restrooms/kitchen, etc.). Our neighbors, for instance, would listen to music up to 2:00AM, which was very annoying. Toilets are clean enough, but extremely small as well (pretty much everything becomes a challenge in that tiny box -- brushing your teeth, taking a shower, you name it). I would avoid the place, if possible. It was very cheap, at least.

Moldy & claustrophobic
Mold is everywhere. There is no space for bags and head. Rooms are tiny without window. Noisy vent. It was cold in September. Light is poor. It's better to book apartment instead this hostel. They accept only cash. Staff is friendly, toilets are clean
