Not the worst place to stay
We only spent one night in Sibiu and we chose this guest house because it was close to the city centre but not right in it.
At our arrival there was no one at the reception, just a lady in the back which didn't really care that we were there. She was doing some papers and didn't look like she wanted to be bothered so we didn't. We waited for 10 minutes and finally the receptionist came. I'm not expecting anyone to go over the top and be overly apologetic but our first impression wasn't that good: no "sorry for keeping you waiting", no smile (a smile means more than 1000 words), no welcome to our guest house, nothing. She did seem concerned if we like the room or not so that's a plus.
The room itself was decent but it had a lot of broken things. Now we can ignore a broken towel hanger but the door... oh god the bathroom door... you can't call that...thing a door. You know that plastic covers you use for a closet? Imagine something worse and that being your bathroom door. I mean it didn't even close properly and it was broken. You can't have that as a bathroom door, in the bathroom you need intimacy even if you do travel as a couple.
Another thing that we didn't like was the bed. While we didn't sleep bad the mattress had a small problem. You literately sink in it, and although sleeping is not a problem, getting out of bed is. Imagine quicksand.
All in all it wasn't a bad experience but we will probably choose a different location on our next trip to Sibiu

Really bad experience
First problem was that they called next day after calling for reservation and announced the price just got higher because of the festival in town. Next we got room 5 that was in really poor condition. The whole room was in a slope, the bathroom door (if you can even call it a door) was held together with tape, the window didn't close, the floor were not really clean and the TV remote didn't work.
They advertise a common fridge on their website but there is no such thing. They got us a noisy little fridge in the room after complaining, but the noise was awful.
We have had the room exchanged to a better one after complaining about everything. The second room was better but also had some issues. The bathroom was in a slope and any water that got sprayed from the shower would end up in a puddle in front of the sink. There was a fridge, but could not use the freezer as they had something stored in there.
They also do not have a place where you could have breakfast like most other places do.

Good value in old town
Though the location of Casa Romana is good and the place in general is nice, I cannot rate it as "excellent". There are few things that take the rating down.
Yes, the floor is not horizontal...not at all ( A bottle scrolls rapidly from one wall to the other), but this is not huge problem, though when You´re seasick You might get a little dizzy.
What, in my opinion, needs fixing is:
1. The bathroom door in room no 5. It is not okay when a "door" or something that looks like door is hanging with duct tape on a doorway.
2. Shower. When taking a shower there was only either very cold or hot water, You couldn´t regulate it.
The room itself was spacious and nice. Unfortunately lady at reception did not speak any english, but we managed with a third person who was translating through phone. Casa Romana also has nice garden where to relax.

Great deal in old town
My wife and I stay here three nights and had a delightful time. The room was warm, but it was hot everywhere. When we mentioned it to Marie she placed us in another room with cross ventilation which helped. Although they don't provide breakfast they will make coffee at a reasonable price and we bought pastries and enjoyed breakfasts in the garden where there are several tables. Marie also did a laundry for us at a reasonable price. The rooms were clean, the beds comfortable, the staff friendly and fun, and the location excellent for the price. I would definitely stay here again.

A terrible bad experience
The B&B deserves maximum one star from the three it is claiming. The rooms do not have fridge, air condition. The floor is not horizontal, so our head was lower than the feet when staying in bed. The overall smell in the house was unpleasant like in an old basements. Only on bulb of 20W among 3 and one bulb among 7 were functioning in the room and respectively the corridor. Only on bedlight for a double bed. The bathroom had a malfunctioning shower and a crampling door, in room 6. The TV set in this room was not functioning either. The receptionist communicated by phone. The prices were high, without breakfast. For me and my family it was the first and last time time. I am writing this revue to avoid others first time, fooled by the internet presentation.
