Red warning on building
We were meant to stay here for 5 nights but after discussing unsafe nature of building with nearby businessmen we relocated. Not recommended due to safety concerns. The building which this apartment is located has a red circular plaque attached. It reads “building examined through technical expertise that falls within Class I seismic risk" and is deemed likely to collapse in an earthquake. Please google this if you are staying in Bucharest private apartment. Please see photos attached. It is one of 350 buildings (out of a total of 110,000) in Bucharest with this sign. My recommendation is to google this sign and do your own research before booking this accomodation. Deeply disappointed. I have stayed in several apartments, hotels and hostels and can handle the occasional dirt, bad smell, uncomfortable bed, lack of shower pressure but I feel this warrants a negative review and us departing and booking additional accomodation elsewhere Also significant mould growth on the walls and very dirty

Spooky but great insite!!
For the little money we paid we expected something worst! Yes the building is creepy and very old. But I didn’t see any new or even good preserved buildings in the old town. Everything is old! The owner called me after midday, because we hadn’t arrived. He helped me to find the right place. Yes aware of that! There are 2 grand central accommodation!!! 1)Lipscani and 2)Doamnei the one we were! There was somebody waiting for us, gave us the key and took us up at the 7th floor. He didn’t speak English but ok. The building is very old and we had to use the tiny elevator! When we entered at the room.. surprise!!!! An other world!! Full renovated and super clean, the parfum from the fresh clean sheets and towels were all over the room. The heat and hot water was on 24/7. We found a hairdryer, iron, boiler, fridge and other stuff. Safety door. At the entrance of the building there was always a doorman. If you are ok with the old building, the room is great.

Great Location but .....
Booked this apartment because of its central location in the Old City Centre. It is well located but when we got there we were shocked by the outside of the property. Frankly it felt unsafe and was in need of a massive renovation and clean up. There was someone sleeping on a bench in the courtyard. Although we had notified our arrival time, there was no one to meet us. We telephoned the owner who said his agent would come. It was obvious that the apartment had been renovated, it had a modern secure front door, but most apartments did not appear to be modernised. The lift was very rickety.
When the agent arrived he told us we could not stay there because the apartment had been double booked. We were offered another apartment which was said to be 10 minutes away. It is disappointing they had not contacted us and not appropriate to be discussing this in the street. We decided to decline this offer and arranged to stay in an hotel near by.

Great position, Old Town
This apartment is right on the edge of the Bucharest Old Town. It is a very newly renovated studio with attention to every detail. Beautiful linens and bed and lots of modern touches, cable TV, washer/dryer, modern bathroom. It wasn't easy to find as there is no signage or number outside the building and appears to be an ugly run down residential apartment block. The lobby is awful and grotty but has a very friendly caretaker with limited English. When I met the host he was very friendly and helpful. The apartment is on the 7th floor reached by an ancient one person elevator. There is a small grocery store across the road and a taxi rank a little further up. I felt a bit uneasy when I arrived as I am a single lady travelling solo, however the room is very safe and secure with extra deadlocks and when I left at 7am the next morning there was a security guard on duty in the lobby. I would recommend this studio for a short or long stay in Bucharest
