Beautiful, central guest house....
My husband and I stayed at the guest house for part of our honeymoon trip and couldn't have been happier with our experience there. The location was ideal as it was incredibly close to the bus station as well as lots of great restaurants, and only about a 5 minute walk to the beach ferry. The staff were all super friendly and gave great recommendations for restaurants/music/ice cream, and it was a beautiful room!

Clean, simple and weel located....
If you just need a clean place to sleep with your own bathroom and wi-fi, this is perfect. No luxuries no dissappointments. Nice staff, whom we barely saw. They want to know in advance what time you check in. Recommended.

Attractive well sited hostel.
This is the former Vivo Rio and has changed very little in vibrant appearance. It does not have a large sign but is opposite the pedestrian entrance to the town bus station, as you walk up the river on the west side just beyond the town centre. It is not staffed continually and we were one of three groups waiting for an owner to arrive and let us in. You ring a mobile and should get a response from one of the two owners.
Ensuite rooms are clean, decorated and furnished brightly and individually with renovated furnishings and a story written by each door of the room. The bed was too soft for us.
The current owners are aiming to be eco friendly, recycling grey water etc. They do not offer breakfast but tea, coffee and fruit are available in the corridor for a donation. It runs as a hostel. They are multi lingual, helpful and full of advice.
When the window was closed and a/c not on, the room smelt musty and a touch damp, but with either in operation it was fine though there is no ventilation in the bathroom making to difficult to cleat steam or dry the colourful but thin towels.
There is no TV but excellent wifi.
It is located on a busy road and is noisy at the front, including from the nearby railway, but becomes quieter at night. Several rooms have views towards the river on the opposite side of the road. Rooms at the back have a large terrace looking onto the high old town walls.
There is a public free car park nearby but it often becomes full, so hunting around for a space in a street may be necessary.

a warm welcome, a clean room decorated in very a very individual cheerful way. Great location to experience the elegant city of Tavira. Beautiful view over the river, only a little noisy being right above a main street
