Mixed emotions but will defini....
I can't help but praise the inventiveness of this modern international cuisine. But unlike my husband who thinks it was by far his best meal in the Netherlands, I can't say this was amazing. We went there for lunch. The presentation and imagination behind every plate were outstanding. But the portion of my main course was too little and I am not a big eater. But worse, the chicken was bland and slightly undercooked. But still, it was a very pleasant and surprising experience and I will give it another try, the next time I am in Amsterdam.

Great food next to Rijks museu....
We had lunch there following out visit to the museum - the restaurant has nice patio to sit on and enjoy the food. The focus is on dutch ingredients and pretty heavy on both vegetarian dishes as well as features of unpopular cuts of meat. In that way it's not a traditional high end restaurant menu - but kudos to the chef for branching out, the food was very good. We shared the garlic veloute, the artichoke hearts and the duck 2- course meal - and all was delicious (yes it does include the heart and tongue, as well as egg, leg and breast). It was one of the more unusual menus we tried during our trip but well executed and tasty. The service was fine, understated but polite.

Probably the most affordable Michelin-rated restaurant in the Netherlands. Absolutely lovely food and service, highly recommended.

Lunch at the museum
We stopped in with no reservations and were seated immediately on the patio. We had lunch at Rijk Restaurant the day they reopened after a kitchen remodel. We ordered the 3 course lunch menu special which one would expect to be fairly quickly served. The kitchen was "in the weeds" after the remodel and there were big gaps in time between courses. Jennifer, our waitress, was most apologetic but it was out of her hands. A complimentary glass of wine would have been appropriate for good will - just saying. The food was delicious when we did get served. Karen
