Good base for a visit to Venic....
I recently stayed at this hotel with my family of 4 (with 15 and 12 yr old). The property is conveniently located a short drive or train ride away from Venice. We had a car so we decided to drive (20 min) to the Troncheta parking in Venice and it worked very well. The train is a 15 minute walk away. The hotel is a little dated but very clean. The pool was a refreshing welcome after walking through Venice all day but it too was tired looking. We ate a couple dinners at the hotel and the food was excellent and really well prepared. The breakfast was also satisfying. A good option if you don't want to stay in Venice and just need a homebase.

Visiting Venice region - Centr....
The goal of our travel was to visit Vence and some of others famous cities in the neighborood with our entire family (4 children).
First of all the hotel is
- Well maintained (nice deco) with an historical part and a modern part.
- Very nice people always smiling; ready to help and ready to help
- Nice italian restaurant inside - You will enjoy italian cooking :-)
- Extended Parking places
- Nice Park and swimming-pool (ideal for children)
- and the last but not the least Wi-Fi for teenagers ;-)
If you want to visit Venice it's great because you got a 15 minutes walk ; if you want because there is a shuttle service from the hotel; till the train station and then it is a 25 minutes train trip and you arrive directly to Venezia Santa Lucia station. From there; this fantastic city is yours (hop on-hop off services; transports (vaporetto; gondoles and a lot of other services)
It's better to get a car if you want to visit other cities like Padova (25 minutes by car); Verona (1 hour by car). A great region to discover from the Leon d'Oro (4 minutes to drive to be on the highway).
Special thanks to Matilda & Francesca (they hopefully recognize themselves)

Delighted to return for a seco....
Excellent location for visiting Venice and the surrounding area. Easy access to Venice by train from the local station and this time we also took the ferry/bus from Chioggia. The hotel has a large garden with a good sized pool that my children really enjoyed. We were given adjoining rooms which lead onto the garden. A perfect place to relax after sightseeing in Venice. The rooms and bathrooms were all very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent and the evening meal is highly recommended. The staff were extremely helpful and kind.

Venice Environs Plus!
I stayed here twice in 2005-06, both times were awesome. The owners are fluent in several languages and assist guests with all their needs whether it is regional tourism or personal requirements of comfort. There is a secure parking area for auto travelers and a paved pedestrian and bike path (and loaner bikes) to a regional train station for easy access to Venice and its delights. Dining options are also quite nice (one of the owners is a chef). The property has steadily been enhanced over the last two decades so the beauty of the property continues to be surprisingly renewed. Pool, gardens, landscaping and interiors are all delightful. It is my understanding that the buildings were once part of a monastery. Leave it to the Italians to find ways to continue to use and appreciate their history and architecture.
