For a five star, hotel is very tired indeed. If you need decent wifi for business, forget it. Some nice features, but overall it was somewhat disappointing. The people tried to help, but even the best efforts cannot overcome infrastructure that is outdated and in need of an upgrade.

It's all about the position. Perfect location adjacent to San Marco with the ability to relax waterside and watch the world go by. Calm escape amidst the throngs. The perfect combination for Venice with unobtrusive but attentive service, well appointed rooms and unarguable value.

View of a blank wall not what was expected from a "Superior" Double in a Grand Canal Hotel. Room was directly over the delivery entrance, and very noisy first thing in the morning. No place to obtain newspaper: odd in a five-star hotel. Unable to provide a detailed check-out account due to "computer down". Restaurant booking "forgotten". Breakfast only average: for example, pancakes that would have served better as shoe leather. Steps to San Marco Square, but a little out of the main tourist flood.
