Clean, attentive and comfortab....
We (2 people) stayed at the start and end of a 12 day tour through Italy. Though the hotel isn’t central as you may expect, it doesn’t take long to stroll or catch the metro one stop to the main area of shops and restaurants, and tourist attractions. Check in was pleasant and a map provided for us. The rooms are clean and tidy with AC, mini bar and Tv. The addition of shutters to the windows was welcomed for a good night sleep. Breakfast was an American style with bacon, eggs, fruit, cereals, pastries and coffee. The hotel has some lovely character about it. Overall a pleasant stay and good nights sleep was had.

Terrible place to stay! Restau....
Terrible hotel. The reception is very unfriendly and not at all helpful. If you call with a problem the guy just says “sorry there’s nothing I can do”. The toilets don’t work very good. You need to flush multiple times. Water didn’t work one day. The shower head was broken and water came out crazy in all directions. The bathroom is so small it’s hard to sit on the toilet. BUT the food is all homemade and pretty decent. The ladies in the kitchen are great and friendly.

Awesome wifi but the heating didnt work so that was kind of annoying. The location is far from Rome but the price is ok. The shower is extremely small but manageable. The room doesn't offer extra pillow or blankets. It has a great balcony and the restaurant is great

I would have given a 2, but th....
We arrive on Thursday and didn't realise until our taxi driver dropped us off that we were way out of the city centre, many of the buildings around us where in fact houses where people lived and it was at least 40 minutes into the centre and around a 15 minute walk to the nearest decent restaurant. Upon booking we were under the impression we would be right in the middle and could walk to bars and restaurants but this was not the case.
After checking in we went to our room, the lifts were easy to use and the hotel was quiet so we never had to wait. Inside the room, the decor was very tired, skirting boards were falling off the walls, lighting wasn't very good at all and we each had only 1 pillow on the bed. My pet hate is going abroad to find that double beds aren't in fact double beds at all but instead they are two singles placed together - this was the case at Hotel Polo. In the bathroom we had all that we needed including a hairdryer but the shower was so small I could barely fit in it and I am a size 12 5 foot 5 tall. The minibar was also not a minibar it was just a fridge. Our balcony was shared with at least 5 other rooms which wasn't great as we enjoy sitting outside late at night having a drink and smoking. There was also no outdoor chairs or tables to use outside, so you could either stand or carry two of the chairs from your room outside with you - a bit of a pain.
Our room was cleaned daily with the maid making the beds and providing us with fresh towels and emptying the bins - we could not fault that.
The room walls are very thin and each morning we were awoken by ladies (I presume maids) at 6:30am being extremely loud and slamming doors shut which woke me and my partner up every morning!
One thing I cannot fault is the wifi, it is completely free throughout and is very good. We had full internet access the whole time we were there.
To me it seems that the hotel is in need of a major revamp. The walls look tired along with the showers and the outside of the hotel needs a good spring clean. I feel that if this would happen the hotel would definitely receive 4 stars.

Good rooms but bad location
Rooms are comfortable and surprisingly big compared to other places in Rome but it's not close to anything. About a 10min walk to the closest train station. Staff were always pleasant. Elevators are a nightmare if the hotel is busy.
