B&B perfection in Rome
It gives my husband and I so much pleasure to write this review, our memories of La Duchessa A Roma will remain fondly with us forever. From the moment we booked until the time we left this was the best experience we could have asked for and it's all due to a man named Alessandro (Alex) and his welcoming B&B! Alex knows customer service, he goes above and beyond to make you feel at home, we are from Australia and this was our first trip to Rome, Alex assisted us with maps, directions, booking trains, advice on local (non tourist) reataurants and even wrote down a suggested self walking tour of the city just in case we needed it. The location is fantastic, about 15-20 mins from the Piazza Venezia Central where you can walk to most attractions and very easily accessed by tram number 8 just a 2 minute walk from the accomodation. One day after Alex had provided us with a map of where we wished to explore, we set off to the tram and as the doors were about to close suddenly there appeared Alex with the map we had forgotten to take and he managed to slip it through the doors before the tram started!
The breakfast served on the rooftop was delicious and the sunset from the rooftop was gorgeous and made for a lovely place to chill with a glass of wine after a long day of sightseeing.
Alex has an array of complimentary snacks, drinks, yogurt, lollies, home made cake (very tasty) and also has wine which can be purchased . There is a pizza restaurant. (takeaway) downstairs which is very friendly and beautiful pizza and many restaurants within walking distance.
The area is in a very safe and quiet neighbourhood and the bed is the most comfortable we have encountered on our trip around Europe so far so a good nights sleep is guaranteed.
Our advice: if you are looking for the best experience in Rome, a host which is second to none, an immaculately clean house in a beautiful area, then book now. Alex we can't thank you enough

First time the charm
This was our first time in Rome, so we wanted some quiet place out side of the center. This place was a good choice for a few reasons. First, the host is very kind and he will help you with literally everything. The apartment is spotless and you have everything that you need. Besides breakfast, you also have free drinks in the fridge and a very tasty cake which the host makes every day. I forgot to mention, pastry which you can have for breakfast is super tasty. Also, the pizza on a corner of this building is the best pizza you will eat in Rome. Restaurants in the neighborhood are very good. Alex, the host, will explain everything about each of them, our favorite was Mo Mo`s restaurant.

Amazing Host and B&B
One of the best, if not the best, B&B we have experienced! Alex is a top-notch and genuinely caring host! He is committed to assisting and satisfying his guests. Prior to our arrival, we contacted Alex a few times and he provided very helpful information with prompt responses. When we arrived, Alex provided us with maps and suggestions for restaurants & activities, including his phone number in case we needed him for anything. The apartment was well decorated and impeccably clean. Alex’s breakfasts served on the outside terrace were amazing! The B&B is very close to the tram which conveniently brings you to Rome city center in 20 minutes. With luggage, would suggest taking a taxi or private transportation vs. the tram. Alex arranged private transportation to the airport for us. Highly recommend Alex and his B&B, which is worthy of its consistently high ratings.

Perfect! Perfect! Perfect!
What can I say? This was without a doubt the best B&B we have ever stayed in. From the original booking, right through to driving off to the airport when we left; everything was marvellous.
The B&B is in a quiet neighbourhood, but with shops and cafes nearby (and a great pizza takeaway downstairs). The tram into the city centre is a few minutes walk away and it takes you right to Piazza Venezia which is very central. As we stayed 6 nights we got the 7 day transport pass which was excellent value and meant we could use the buses and trams (and the train to Ostia Antica) as often as we wanted and didn't need to keep getting more tickets.
The B&B only has two rooms so we had lots of space.
It was incredibly clean. We had a lovely room with a very comfy bed and our own little balcony with 2 chairs. There is a lovely breakfast room, but we ate our breakfast outside every morning on the brilliant roof terrace. We spent a lot of time sitting out there as it was so comfortable.
The B&B is on the 5th floor so although we had the french window open all night we heard no traffic.
Alex provides a wonderful breakfast. He also makes lovely cakes every day which we ate lots of! There is also a fridge with yogurts, juice, milk, water and sodas that you can help yourself to whenever you like. There is also tea and coffee there all the time, plus crisps, biscuits etc. The only place that we have ever had all these things available!
And Alex is such a wonderful host. He spent a long time explaining everything in the B&B, including all the various doors and also the lift. He also gave us very detailed information about local transport, places to visit and recommendations for food. He is available all day if you need to contact him for further information or assistance. He was always willing to just chat with us, or answer any questions we had. And he can arrange an excellent car service to/from the airport which we used both ways.
I would recommend anyone going to Rome to stay here, whether it is for one night or more. You won't be disappointed :)
