My husband and I stayed here during our overnight layover in Rome. The location was great, in a quiet area close to the Coliseum. Our flight was at 6:15 the next morning so we had to leave super early (4:15). The front desk opened up breakfast early for us so we could take some food on our way to the airport. Grazi, Hotel Edera, for making our brief time in Rome a pleasure!

The whole room stank from the ....
This hotel is not worthy "grade 3”.
Extremely impolite night concierge the night between April 12th – 13th! We arrived late and the air-condition didn’t work in two of the rooms due to bad batteries in the remote control. The concierge couldn’t care less and recommended us to change hotels at 2 AM!?
We were five people and we all had five very different rooms, all with disadvantages. My room (#40) had a terrible smell from the bathroom drain. Not very nice. No air-condition and no hot water the first night, but the room is silent since it has no neighbors.
The breakfast was "nothing to write home about". How can bread be that dry?! And still no toaster...

Some folk can be critical of this kind of place. It's not ultra modern, and takes me back to some of my early trips to Rome. But room was spacious enough (including that rarity: a proper armchair!) and good bedding. Pleasant communal area. Real effort to brighten up corridors with plants. Much appreciated! Don't be out late without leaving your key. They really lock the place down otherwise! Wifi rather wobbly.

Cold showers in December!
I stayed four nights at this hotel from 7th to 11th December. It is classified as a three star but really isn't. The hot water system couldn't cope with guests showering in the morning and I had to endure cold showers over the weekend. Throughout my stay there was a drainy smell in the bathroom and on one night the TV didn't work. There are no room safes in the room but you can hire a safety deposit box at reception.
Saying all this, the hotel is well situated being only a few minutes walk from the Coliseum. However, you have to walk through a park to do this and as a single female I was not happy doing this after dark - I had to walk back along the road which then took me about 20 minutes. There are lots of brilliant restaurants nearby. Breakfast at the hotel was varied and plentiful. Wifi didn't work. Would I return here? No, I don't think so.

Stayed here for 4 nights in October and a further night in November. Great location, very close to Collosium and Santa Maria Maggiore (a must see). Rooms are basic but clean, front desk is manned 24 hrs and included breakfast will get you through to lunch. Worth considering because at the end of the day, as others have said, actual time spent in the room should be minimal.
