Only positive is that it’s nea....
Although it says that it has refurbished rooms ours was grotty so it’s worth asking for one of the better rooms if there are any. The reception area smells strongly of smoke. The shower in our room was dilapidated with dirty tiles and the fridge in the room was filthy and contained half a bottle of something someone else had left. That said, the bed was clean as were the towels and it’s almost next door to the train station. We didn’t bother with breakfast as it looked like cheap basics. We wouldn’t stay again but if convenience for the station is a priority it might be a consideration but I’d check alternative options first.

*continued review after Roma and Firenze*
After two nights in Florence, we were scheduled to take the train to Cinque Terre. However, the weather (thunderstorms and torrential rain) was miserable (Oct. 14, 2016). Trees fell on the train tracks so trains were cancelled. In addition, Cinque Terre is built on cliffs so when it downpours, mudslides occur, shutting down the villages. So we had no choice but to cancel our accommodation and look for our next destination. So we chose to go to Pisa because it's on the way to the next town we were going to go.
We booked Hotel La Torre as for two nights and the train ticket the night before online. The hotel is walking distance from the train station. The area is sketchy but nobody bothered us. We stayed in the hotel room the entire day because of the downpour. Our room had two beds and a sink. The bathroom was shared and outside the room.
The next day, the weather was better so we spent it walking around everywhere. The town is very pretty. It has a university so we saw lots of students. We visited the leaving tower of Pisa of course. We also came across the Opera House (Teatro di Pisa) and managed to get tickets to that night's performance of Rigoletto. It was amazing. We absolutely loved it. We met a young university student who happened to sit in our "box". He took us to ToTo at intermission, which he praised as the best gelato in town...and it was delicious.
Pisa can be visited as a day trip or as a 2 night stay but definitely worth the visit.

staff rudeness and smoking
location is great, rooms old, but clean. wifi poor.
it is run by a family since the 1960s
unfortunately, the older man smokes so the common areas and some room smell of cigarettes.
the woman at the desk is rude and when I asked her help she ranted for 20 minutes about how she is tired of dealing with complaints!
they need to hire a manager and remodel. and the lobby and breakfast rooms are faithfully represented,
also they ask a deposit for room key in cash.

This is a decent hotel with excellent location. 2 min walk to station & around 15 min walk from Airport. Also near to high street.
A Conad store is also close by which was quite helpful.
And lots of restaurants to choose.
Only negative is it has table fan in room (NO AC) so on hot days it is little uncomfortable.

Nothing special about this hotel. It served us well for a one night stay. Included breakfast. No A/C in the room. It was sufficiently clean, and the staff were very nice. The location was very convenient to Pisa's main train station, and the price was very reasonable
