Outstanding in every respect

This is one of those hotels that is summarized best by the word excellence- and I mean that in every respect from the staff to the facilities to the location, it’s a four star hotel that punches well above its weight limit. The staff are quite extraordinary- I stayed at the room mate hotel last in Milan and was impressed, well this hotel has literally blown me away- it’s the kind of thing you want to write to the chairman of the group about - these guys deserve every accolade... enough said

Overnight stay

This is a good hotel. We stayed on the fifth floor and our room was a good size and very comfortable. The breakfast which was included had a great choice of hot and cold and lots of pastries and cakes as well. We also ate dinner in the hotel restaurant and the food and service were very good. The pool, sauna and wellness area is great and a must do.

Fantastic location, shocking s....

Visited Friday to Monday mid April which was booked through expedia. Fantastic location which is right next to the red metro line. Good restaurants, bars, normal fashion shops all within a few minute walk. You can walk to both stations and the duomo in around 30 minutes - lovely walk which we done a few times. Hotel room size ok, very clean with most facilities. Lovely small spa pool in the basement which we used twice and no one else was there. Also a lovely rooftop seating area which is basic but the views are lovely. Now for the issues... service at reception and bar was shocking. Asked for iron to be delivered to room (as advised in room info pack) I was told they do not have these but they have a iron room which is open to all. Took my clothes down to the room which was locked so had to go back to reception. The following night we asked the waitress at the bar for 2 wine glasses which she replied no as she only had 2 left so we couldnt have them, no suggestion or offer of any other glass - what bar has 2 wine glasses! Called room service one night and it seemed such an effort to the waiter - he advisef that it was €5.00 charge and were we sure we really wanted room service, then huffed when i said yes. Check was a 30 minute wait as the service was so slow. Would only possibly go back if we got a cheap deal and not actually spending much time in hotel.

The Portraits on the Wall

Cozy, clean and comfortable are the words that best describe my recent stay here. This pleasant hotel, a late 19th century edifice, is built inside a palazzo; I was told that each room is different. Upon arrival, I discovered that the safe in my room wasn’t working so I requested and was moved to another room. This one featured a wall safe just like the ones I’ve seen in the movies. What fun! Every time I used it, I felt like I was in a film myself. Hotel staff are attentive; there was only one time that I had to make a second request for an item. The breakfast buffet is substantial with many hot and cold choices including fresh fruit – I especially enjoyed the kiwis. Also, since it’s on the 6th floor, there's a lovely view while you're having breakfast. There are many shops and restaurants in the area with an entrance to the metro stop Lima just steps from the hotel’s front door. A pharmacy is also close by; the person who waited on me there spoke English so my transaction was easy. The 1st floor of the hotel has a terrace (see photo); it’s an inviting spot to relax. Hotel guests are also able to go to the rooftop terrace on the 8th floor for a view overlooking Milan. I didn’t get a chance to do this, but that gives me a good reason for a repeat visit. Finally, I saw some portraits in the lobby that intrigued me so I did some research when I returned home to find out who the people were. The paintings depict Girolamo Seccamani Mazzoli (the present owner’s grandfather) and his wife, Countess Corinna Melegari, both of whom loved Italian classical music - especially the works of Giuseppe Verdi. In remembrance of them, all the hotel suites are named after Italian musicians or operas and include something reminiscent of the musician/opera in the rooms. I didn’t stay in a suite so I looked at photos online to see if I could find some of these clues. And yes, I did see some. I love to discover places that have hidden meanings; this one has stolen my heart. I really must return soon.

Amazing location

Loved where it was located because you could jump on the subway so easy and get around the city. Parked my car with them and they washed the windshield, left a thank you note and water. Amazing customer service. Lots of shops around as well as good restaurants.
